I just went to the parking page on the Arisia website so I could forward the info on the Vassar Street parking lots to a friend who'll be attending the convention for the first time, and discovered that we can't park in those lots this year. What happened? And I have to say, I'm really glad I checked the page, because otherwise, I would have illegally parked in one of those lots without realizing I was doing something wrong.

MGH is sending two medical teams and more medical supplies, including blood. Please plan to give if you can at the Arisia Blood Drive. http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2010/01/14/mass_groups_marshal_aid_organize_relief_efforts/

One of my friends from Seattle finds herself unable to attend the con, and is looking for a good home for her membership. She bought it pre-reg at last year's con, and would like to recoup that cost.

Please send me a private message if interested..

I know many of you have already thought of this, but ...

When an Arisia staffer spends time working tirelessly to make your convention better, they're not getting paid in anything other than egoboo. So if you appreciate the work they've done, please let them know! There are often negative bits of feedback that need to be addressed, and that is definitely important. It'd be nice to see folks get more positive feedback, though, to balance things out. Feedback can be said in person, mentioned in the at-con feedback sessions, emailed to feedback(at)arisia.org, or submitted via the online form.

Thanks, and see a lot of you soon! :)

Hey there. David Friedman masquerading as Omly. Thought everyone should know that the IMAX in the Science Center is offering free hourly shows to the public all day on Friday. The deal is that every person is allowed to see two, one hour shows for free. Tickets are distributed only on Friday on a first come, first serve basis (no reservations). There is no ID check, so you can get a ticket and give it to others. Tickets are in the area that looks like airport check-in. The Museum of Science is next to the Science Park T-station on the Green Line. Relevant links below. Please spread the word to others who will be waiting around Boston on Friday waiting for Arisia to start (couldn't get this on the main website). Enjoy!!

Friday night Jewish religious services will again be held at Arisia '10, co-sponsored by [livejournal.com profile] zigguratlabs and [livejournal.com profile] tremontstshul.

Time: 4:30-6:00pm (candlelighting time in Boston is 4:19pm this week)
Where: Room 1132 (the [livejournal.com profile] zigguratlabs suite, where our Pajama Party will be held after 7:30pm).
What: Kabbalat Shabbat services led by [livejournal.com profile] chanaleh. This means they are egalitarian (equal participation by men and women), although the liturgy we use is traditional and all in Hebrew. We provide prayerbooks with (and without) full transliteration. Lots of singing! Visitors welcome (open to all)! Challah and schmoozing afterwards!

We will attempt to get the word out at-con by flyer, on the party board, and in the Clear Ether late-breaking newsletter.

If five people on a panel wanted to have a brief planning meeting on Friday evening, where should we go to do this? (Using panelists' hotel rooms is not ideal.) Is that what the green room is for? Is there anywhere on Arisia.org that describes the different "public" rooms (like consuite) and what they're for?
