Contra dance photos?

Did anyone get any photos or videos from Arisia's (first-ever AFAIK) contra dance on Friday in Harbor? I intended to but completely forgot about it that day and didn't realize I'd forgotten about it 'til the next day. Oops.

There's a nice way to celebrate SPRING coming to the Courtyard Marriott on Tremont Street in Boston. April 11 the non-profit UFC will host Spring Anime Kaiju Experience from Noon to Midnight. There will be many things for anime fans to enjoy, including Panels like: Do you Otaku? and Creative Japanese Cooking. And an anime screening room presented by FUNimation. Also a Manga Lounge and library with so much manga you'll be stuck there all day, including an entire yaoi closet. Then the fun continues with Cosplay Checkers, yes, checkers! Imagine what being "kinged" looks like in Cosplay Checkers? In the evening there is a Sakura Dance from 8pm to Midnight, and a hosted Sake Tasting for the more adult members begins at 9pm. Steampunk Ball: more dancing?
Jan. 27th, 2009 04:24 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Some of you who live in the Greater Boston Area may be interested in one or more of the following:
a) independent (i.e. not con-related) Boston-area Steampunk Balls (following the general format of the one at Arisia)
b) smaller Steampunk gatherings with dancing, but not necessarily only dancing or primarily dancing
c) non-Steampunk themed historical dances, with many of the same dances, but more historical rather than fictional costuming
d) historical, costumed, dances and balls outside the GBA (like, Hartford, or New Haven, or New Jersey, or California...)
I had minions handing out fliers at the Ball, but had come unprepared for the wonderful turnout, and thus they ran out of fliers in the first 10-15 minutes.
If you're interested in any of the above, send email to michael AT vintagedancers DOT org, and let me know which ones you're interested in, and I'll add you to the appropriate mailing list.
