I know the Arisia crowd is pretty awesome and full of people who like good stories, playing games, and especially LARPing (I was super impressed with the LARP incorporation into the masquerade this year), so I figured maybe some of you would be interested in this:

You can watch the first two seasons of the show on Youtube, and it is really good. Fairly family friendly, too. :) If you can, please donate to the cause or help spread the word.

Season 1 and 2 Playlist:

If this is an inappropriate post for this group, I apologize and will remove it, but from the people I meet at Arisia, this seems to be the sort of thing to fit right in.

P.S. Is it awesome or sad that I'm already working on a costume for next year's masquerade? ;)

Every good Mad Scientist (TM) has some extra blood and glasses in their lab, right? Well, why not help out by donating? Every bit helps out another Mad Scientist in need.

Massachusetts General Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Boston will once again be collecting your blood. Donor appointment times (walk-ins welcome!) will be Saturday 9:30a-4p and Sunday from 10a-4p (that means the last appointment will start at 4pm). Signup for the blood drive will be at a table in the right side of the lobby.

AND!

Lion's Club Eyeglasses Donation Drive

There is a collection drive underway for used prescription eyeglasses (and sunglasses) Lions Recycle for Sight and you too can help!

Please donate your used eyewear including men's, women's or children's prescription glasses and non-prescription sunglasses. Lion's Club volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the greatest impact.

Collection boxes will be located in the Volunteer Lounge (Mezzanine level, Alcott room) and the Info Desk (lobby). This simple act will make a difference in someone's life!

A big Thank You to everyone who donated eyeglasses.  We collected 68 pairs of eyeglasses to donate to OneSight.

Each year, OneSight conducts Clinics in developing countries where doctors and trained volunteers provide free eye exams and recycled eyewear to thousands of people in need. Donated glasses are collected and are sent to a OneSight recycling center where glasses are cleaned, prescriptions are categorized and glasses are prepared to be hand-delivered during a Global Clinic.  For more information see OneSight.org.

Thank you!
