A few King rooms have become available at The Westin For Saturday and Sunday nights. If you are interested in one of these rooms, please check in with the Innkeeper Desk, located across for the hotel front desk, to get fixed up with one of these at the Arisia Rate. These will be available on a first come, first served, basis.

Haven't figured out where you're sleeping over Arisia Weekend? Want a room at the con but figure the wait list is a mile long, and that you'll never clear off of it? Worry no longer! The Renaissance Boston, our overflow hotel just 1 block from The Westin, has increased our block for Arisia Weekend! In addition, we've been able to move several people into The Westin who previously had reservations at The Renaissance, so we expect more to free up in the next 2 weeks. If you are interested in securing a room at this hotel (which go for $136 + taxes a night) please e-mail hotel (at) arisia (dot) org and we will send you booking information, or put you at the top of the currently empty wait list, if others get to us first.

Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

We're happy to announce that we have secured a block of rooms with the Embassy Suites Boston – Logan Airport for Arisia 2013! Rooms there will be $125/night (+ ~14.5% tax). Reservations can currently be made via calling the hotel's front desk directly at 617-567-5000 and mentioning that you're with the Arisia Group. We hope to have more information and online reservations up on our website next week.

If you have any questions about either of our overflow hotels, or anything else related, please feel free to ask here or e-mail hotel (at) arisia (dot) org and I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Hello,

I'm a 25-year old female college student and this year will be my first visit to Arisia.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who is going and staying at the actual hotel, but I'd really like to be able to find a room there, since otherwise I would have to commute from Worcester every day and would not be able to do any of the fun night activities that I've heard so much about.

I'm clean and quiet. I don't smoke, I don't drink in the room and I never drink enough to get drunk. I can arrive Friday evening and I will need to leave on Sunday.

However... I have bad back problems, so I would actually need a bed space rather than a floor space. I'm willing to share a queen/king sized bed with another woman, if need be.

I'm really hoping to find a spot in a room with friendly people who wouldn't mind helping a newbie out a little...

My apologies for the delay; this has been a somewhat crazy week.

The hotel update is essentially that the Westin wants us to continue sorting through the waiting list on a rolling basis. As we finish up allocating rooms that were set aside for particular uses, we will shift people from the waiting list into those rooms. Ultimately we think that everyone currently on the waiting list will get a room (though not everyone will get the type of room they requested -- the hotel only has so many doubles). We are also looking into overflow hotel options (there are two other hotels within a short walk from the Westin), although we hope that won't be necessary.

The Westin has many more rooms than the Hyatt had, or even the Park Plaza. However, we may have more people interested in staying in the hotel this year than previous years. It will just take more patience than we had expected.

For anyone who is not yet on the waiting list: the waiting list is still the best option for getting a room in the Westin. The hotel will only be releasing rooms to those on the waiting list, so there is no reason not to be on it.

We will post updates about updates about the hotel status to the Arisia website as well as LJ, FB, Twitter, etc., when we have them. If there will be an overflow hotel, that determination will be made based on the status of the waiting list once all rooms and suites are allocated.

And thank you for your patience!

Currently we're sold out of Doubles (we hope to free up some soon for the Waiting list) and we're running low on Kings.

If you would like to reserve a King or get on the Waiting list for a Double, please see http://2011.arisia.org/hotel

(If you have a Double and would be willing to switch to a King, please let us know)
