Hey all

Well i'm home now... sorry to all i forgot to say goodbye to, but i had to leave earylier then i thought, and glad i did. i left at around 10am, tread throu the snow to the T green line was running as normal, but the redline was all sort of messed. lets just say i got to parkstreet at 10:30 but didnt make it to Quincy center (which is not where i wanted to go, but thats something else) till 3pm... thats right, Park Street to Quincy Center took me 4 and half hours... then i had to call for a right for the rest of the trip cause the train got stuck in the snow and wasnt going any further then Quincy center. So needless to say when i got hom i crashed and basiclly just woke up, so once again i'm sorry for anyone i forgot to say goodbye to and sorry i didnt call when i got home.

On another note, I HAD A BLAST this year. and i think i worked enough to be good for the next year lol, hope to see everyone soon again.

Later Days

This was my first time taking part in Arisia, and I think I am hooked! Thank you to everyone for making it so much fun! Next time I plan to spend a lot more time prowling!

I was one of the Star Trek babes who took part in the Masquarade ("Captain Kirk and Accessories"). I want to extend my congratulations to Andy and Katherine for their splendid work on our part of the show, and to everyone who took part or attended. It truly was great fun, and I was very impressed by the costuming on all levels.

Kudos!!

Ok, so the lovely people in Opps hooked me up with the info on the Arisia community on LJ.

First and foremost, this is very cool.

Props go out to all those people who actually made it and stayed through the whole con. Yer a bunch of troopers, y'are.

Second, I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Spark and I was registered at the con under that name. You may remember me as the blue Delvian chick. Sorry that I did not shave my head for the role;).

I wanted to introduce myself here 1. so I could meet cool new people to talk to/ make new contacts and 2. because i am looking for someone. His name is Jason, he is from St. Albans VT, near the Canadian border, he was hanging out with Eve and people from the Skank Saloon party and he has the word "loyalty" - [fidelitas, because it is in Latin] tattooed to his neck. My friend and I travel up to Montreal frequently and we wanted to invite him along next time we go.

If anyone on here knows him or the people he was hanging out with, if you wouldn't mind passing along my contact information, that would be wicked cool of you. I am also on MySpace and my handle is Spark there as well. Also, anyone else feel free to get in touch with me. As I said, I am on both LJ and MySpace, do double your.. Well, you ge the idea.

Be well people, I will see you next year!

Arisia this year was wonderful! I met so many more people this Arisia than in previous Arisia's! I know there are at least a dozen people I met that I didn't get to exchange contact info with. If we chatted (or even if we didn't chat) feel free to let me know and we can keep in touch and hang out outside of the one long day.

To all the staff, excellent work. As a dealer and as a guest, I thought the con was fantastic. We had almost no issues as dealers. There are always things that can be improved, but overall the con was great.

I was also very pleased with the Sunday night extension. Very quick thinking on the part of the staff. Good work.

I just wanted to pass along (and hope that if they don't see it that other folks will pass it along) a Thank You to the folks in the Green room for keeping all us program participants, authors, panelists etc well fed and well caffinated throughout the convention. It was, as always, well appreciated.

Thanks also to the folks in the Internet Room and at the Information Desk for keeping us informed about the storm related news that was important for everyone at the convention.

And Thanks to the Volunteers who manned the Coat Check (I hope we fed Cthuhlu an ample enough supply of quarters to keep him from snacking on you).

Grumble...I made it to half of one panel and a tenth of another all weekend.

I was looking forward to hearing from more of you--it was an interesting LJ panel...oh well...next time.

Dear Arisia Attendees and Staff,
I don't pretend to represent Higgins Amory Museum and its opinions, views blah, blah blah.... I am a member of the Higgins Sword Guild that did demos on Saturday. I'd be interested in your specific feedback. (Although I love to hear "I liked the swords," it will be better if we know which ones so you can see more of them! :)
So that I don't "hijack" space at this community, please respond at my journal:

Thanks again and I had a great time at the con!

Wow! That certainly was a great con. All three versions of it. (4.5, 5 & 5.1) I am sure I met various folks with lj accounts while I was there. I will not pretend I will remember them for the purpose of friending. Hopefully I will at least recall people enough to chat amicably on random tangents at the next event we find ourselves at.

-The LJ-names of the people who were on the above-named panel (from left to right, audience-viewpoint) are:-I also collected the names of anyone in the audience who wanted to give it, with the intent of leaving the list on the table, so people could copy them down. Since the room was needed for the next panel, this was an unworkable idea on my part, and I ended up stuffing the list in my bag as I scurried out of the room in a typically chaotic state. And, since those people did not volunteer to have their names appear here, I'm not going to list them. If you were one of them, please feel free to attach a comment to this post!

-I've gotten a great deal of positive feedback on the panel, and want to thank all the audience members and panelists. I also wanted to pass on [livejournal.com profile] roozle's suggestion that next year's LJ panels be a bit more focused. The topics this year were rather broad.

-I'm also aware that there are people in the Arisia community who aren't certain LJ is a sufficiently "SF" topic for an SF convention. That's a perfectly defensible position. I happen to disagree, but that's mostly just because I enjoyed the LJ panels, and would like to be on them again next year. And I am greedy. I'd also point out that both panels were very well-attended, with Hey Babe getting a standing-room-only crowd on Sunday — aided, no doubt, by the snow, but still.
