Ok, so the lovely people in Opps hooked me up with the info on the Arisia community on LJ.

First and foremost, this is very cool.

Props go out to all those people who actually made it and stayed through the whole con. Yer a bunch of troopers, y'are.

Second, I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Spark and I was registered at the con under that name. You may remember me as the blue Delvian chick. Sorry that I did not shave my head for the role;).

I wanted to introduce myself here 1. so I could meet cool new people to talk to/ make new contacts and 2. because i am looking for someone. His name is Jason, he is from St. Albans VT, near the Canadian border, he was hanging out with Eve and people from the Skank Saloon party and he has the word "loyalty" - [fidelitas, because it is in Latin] tattooed to his neck. My friend and I travel up to Montreal frequently and we wanted to invite him along next time we go.

If anyone on here knows him or the people he was hanging out with, if you wouldn't mind passing along my contact information, that would be wicked cool of you. I am also on MySpace and my handle is Spark there as well. Also, anyone else feel free to get in touch with me. As I said, I am on both LJ and MySpace, do double your.. Well, you ge the idea.

Be well people, I will see you next year!

Hi there! I saw you as the Delvian chick and I thought it was awesome! but didn't go chat with you :( I was the one wearing a great (not utili) kilt (red/black/yellow/white). I was also working security most of the con so you may have seen me with a radio in my ear.

I am a Jason, but sadly not the one you are looking for.

ah hah! you must be McDoobie, then (I happened to be standing in a squish of people at one point and was looking at your badge).

your greatkilt sparked a discussion on kilts vs. greatkilts vs. utilikilts. my boyfriend S. has a (nongreat)kilt, and he calls it his "traditikilt".

rock on.

Yes! T'was I. I'm glad I sparked discussion over kilts; wish I was involved in it (wait no I don't... I had that discussion at least 6 times a day). I love my great kilt. It is so versatile. The hardest part wearing it is ignoring the people who say stuff like "nice dress" or "look he's wearing a dress." I so wanted to pound them into the ground with a claymore! At one point there was a guy dressed in drag with his S.O. and daughter and he said to her, "Yes, he's wearing a dress too."

It defiantly kept me warm on the walk to/from my car (back to my car with the assistance of sweatpants). But there are times I wish I had a non-great kilt (but I couldn't deal with a utilikilt). Next time I'm in Scotland I just might pick up fabric to make my own non-great kilt.

I don't get the dress comment when I wear mine, but that is usually in SCA context, though I've worn it in the past at Arisa as well.

Ah well....I don't take too much offence but I wish I had my claymore or my Sgian Dubh's weren't peace bonded...

Actually; no one has ever said it to my face. It's generally said after I am about 4-5 ft from a person who I walked by or walked by me... I have very selective good hearing.

I went to Maggiano's with some friends of mine on Sunday night, one of whom wore his kilt outside and waded through thigh-high snowdrifts.

Of course, with his legs poking out of his wintercoat, he looked like a flasher...

I only went outside to come/go to the con. I guess I was chicken. But I also did *not* have a jacket. Only my kilt, shirt, scarf, gloves, socks, and shoes. Someone lent me a pair of sweatpants to go home. I'm in debted to her.... I had to walk through a 4ft high snow drift to get into my house and then continued through 2 ft of snow to get to my door.

I think I know who you are talking about but I am not sure I could actually point you to him.

The costume looked very nice. I remember that one, although my girlfriend had to tell me what is was, since I did not quite recognize it. Good luck with the search.

Hey ho there! Glad to see you have an LJ! I am the person that brought you wine in the art show, and did the bone and copper patina artwork. Very pleased to have met and chatted with you!

Hope to see you around!

He oh there! Just thought I'd let you know I added you to my friends list, on the off chance you want to do the same... it would increase our chances of actually hanging out some day, and perhaps trading art supplies/suppliers and whatnot.

anyway, ta for now!
