My son is 13, and (obviously) a student. But his school doesn't provide student IDs. He does have a Feinstein Junior Scholar card, I think, but that's about it. Can I sign him up as a student, or do I have to sign him up as an adult?

Thanks!

ID is only required for High School age and above.

Actually I'm pretty sure the real answer is "No, he doesn't need an ID; Arisia is going to do the right thing." I.E. If a High School Student didn't have an ID for some reason we wouldn't hassle them either. High School Students can be home schooled, etc.

I'm glad you were able to get good answers - just to add that if you have further questions that don't get answered here you can email registration@arisia.org and they can give you info and details.

My standard answer for the California conventions is to ask them to bring in a report card or a class schedule.

In the deep distant past we had a materials fee for Fast Track.

When we started having a student rate, we rolled that materials fee into the registration. It is the reason why Fast Track kids aren't eligible for the $30 rate.

We imagine that high school students generally have student IDs. But as you noted, there's a gap that's not covered.
