I just wanted to say that, for me, this was the Best Arisia Ever.

I had a great time working as Security, as it was little different from the way I usually attend a con: walk around and hang out with as many people as possible, and see where the winds take me. However, as Security, I got to wear a nifty badge to go with it. (And get to know where all the good parties are...)

Despite losing my voice for various parts of the convention and needing to learn some ASL really quick, I had a great time meeting new people and spending time with old friends. I'm still working how exactly who I met and where, as I got very little sleep over the three nights, and being sick didn't help much. Except that I was somehow able to get to know people easier when I couldn't speak, compared to when I did have my voice...

Anyways, I want to thank all of the convention staff, especially everyone who was in charge of the food. I made it a point to hit the con suite and satff den every time I passed by, and I was never disappointed. I only had to buy dinner once, and that was because I wanted to spend time with some friends.

Volunteering is great for the budget.

WE - also known as Jake, or, for part of the weekend, Silent Jake, the Man With No Voice.

I'm glad this was a good year for you....

I don't think I had a chance to say so at the con, but thank you for volunteering... It's what really makes this all work out so well for us (Especially in such a potentially high stress type of postion as Security), and you sometimes get some really fun stories out of it.... :-)

Heh, I vaguely remember the first time I volunteered for Arisia; I got asked by Skum to work Security ('92/'93?). It turns out I pulled the overnight shift & then we got to pull an 8am truck trek to Storage (back when Storage was in Burlington (or near there?)), but when we got to Storage we didn't have the keys and then the truck broke down, too, so we were all standing around in snowbanks for quite some time (until somebody realized that there was a restaurant at the end of the block :) & then someone from the con came & rescued us. I think we were back to the BPP by 2 or 3pm. Memory fades after so many head-shots....

Oh come on it was a ploy and we all know it :)

Hey at least you knew enough to not talk and had it back by con end.

Hope to see you for next year, if not have a grand time on your adventure.

Hmmm....

I was leaning more towards King Richard's Faire down in Carver, MA...

But then again, Gamers (like me) think everyone looks familiar after a few years...

Aha - that's where I know you from - Lew's booth!!

I didn't work at KRF this season (I'm usually at the Crusaders' Crossbows, but I needed a break and for health issues)...but I did wander about faire a good number of times, and closing weekend I had my lil red wagon with me... ;)
