I didn't get to the art show this year, but in the past it has been a lot of mixes art, not just paintings/drawings. Specifically some knit scarfs? In work last month we has an art & hobby show where everyone showcased there specific talents or hobbies. Everyone was really amazed at my entry. Then I thought, hmmmm, maybe I could show it at Arisia. It's a mix between crocheting & quilting. I was wondering if something like this would be worthy & if so how does one go about entering?

Well, that's a bit disappointing.

Boston Globe this morning, City & Region section.
A single photograph with a caption of a woman dressed as Princess Leia. No article I could find, no other pictures.

I had a fabulous time at Arisia.

While I am aware of its limitations for hosting a con our size, I do, as I said many times over the course of the weekend, adore that hotel and look forward to returning next year. I could have spent the entire weekend loitering along the various patios and railings, watching the con go by. I loved being able to step out of whatever room I might be in and look out over the festivities, not to mention admire that gorgeous river view.

Once things actually got going (let's just bleep over the many hours of prep), I also enjoyed all my events. All of the First Night performers did a great job and the audience was wonderful, too, so thanks to all of you who were there. I was amazed at how many people showed up to walk the labyrinth and promise I'll do what I can to get it into a bigger timeslot next year (it was a very last-minute addition this time). The radio drama was tons of fun and I am very happy to have been a part of it. And as usual, big thanks to the folks who show up for yoga, because if nobody did, I might be really cranky about getting up that early at a con. :)

My costuming this year was somewhat uninspired (read: recycled) since my con time and energy were in use elsewhere, but I still love the dress-up. And hey, despite the floor-skimming cape (I'm short), I did not jam up the escalator in Saturday's witch get-up. The party array this year was a lot of fun, and I was so thrilled to find the sno-cones (and spoon-straws!!) on Friday that I ended up leading a phalanx of friends back to it, one of whom I believe ended up blogging about it for Wired. Nice job, guys!

Saturday's party scene was even better, facilitated by the great hotel layout. I especially appreciated the atmosphere since nighttime was the only chance I had to just relax and socialize. As Batgirl, I did a lot of hopping with friends between various gatherings and the club dance and met some great new people as well. As usual, the Skank folks did an amazing job. The Weekly Dig photographer snapped me inside. (I'd love to see some of the other pictures he took in there.)

Thanks to Joelll and everyone else for a great con. I have no doubt that September and her gang will bring us a fabulous time next year as well.

I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of me dressed as the leopard girl from outer space t the skanks in Space party that they could email me? I know some people took some pictures of me considering I remember posing for a couple. If you do it would be greatly appreciated. I need proof that I was out in public in that costume. lol.
