arisiaFor those of you in the Boston area interested in Live Action Roleplaying,
there are some excellent games coming up soon - Arisia (for the three or
four of you who may not already be familiar with it) is a great big fun
multi-genre convention taking place here, January 16-18th at the Boston
Park Plaza Hotel. There will be 2 live action games running at the con, as
well as a demo session by NERO.
If you're an experienced gamer, we'd love to have you; if you're new, this
is an excellent chance to start.
Naptime - Saturday, 12pm-4pm
Naptime!
The first day of school - daunting for some, fantastically exciting for
others. Here's your chance to regress and be a little kid again, for a few
hours or so. Make new friends, and find out what this 'kindergarten' thing
is all about.
This LARP is light on plot, and heavy on roleplaying & fun - you're 5- and
6-year-olds, after all. Characters will be provided.

Celebration: A Rite of Passage Friday, 8pm-midnight
The end of the semester, and it's time for the high school prom. Everyone
is here -- the jocks and the nerds; the glee club and goths; the teachers
and, of course, the parents chaperoning the whole thing.
But wait -- what are those teachers talking about over in the corner? What
is the Math Club up to? Who is that new guy in the sharp suit? What kind
of trouble are those nosey kids getting themselves into this time? And --
oh, God -- look at what the Principal is making people do for the Talent
Show!
Celebration is a Live Action Roleplaying Game, running the evening of
Friday, January 16th, at the Arisia science fiction convention. The game
will be approximately 4 hours long, starting at 8pm. Players will portray
the students, teachers, parents and other hangers-on at a prom that is --
well, a little different.
