Hey, I figured out how to do this, so here is my Arisia post.

If I do say so myself, we threw one hell of an art show. I apologize to anyone who got the grumpy me after 5 hours fighting with the non-functional laptop on Friday, it ruined my attitude for most of the weekend. However, I don't think we've ever had a smoother set up or tear down.

In general, the artists were happy, the attendees were happy, and the guests were happy. I never did track down Allen Steele to pick a writer's GOH choice award, though. Frank Wu is an excellent GOH, I recommend him highly to any con wanting to have some serious fun added to the art show programming. Dueling easels was wonderful. Despite a few glitches, the staff was its usually competent, helpful self, and we found out where 'resting on our laurels' from previous years didn't work.

Still have to deal with sending back the mail in art (along with the one package that apparently arrived over the weekend) and the debrief, but all in all, a good experience. Any comments, positive or negative, please let me know at artshow@arisia.org

Mr. Wu was great at the Fast Track draw-a-dragon panel. And "OMG," my kid was actually listening, even though she didn't look it. That was great.

(I hope the package is from trickofthedark, whose stuff went astray somewhere twixt her and Arisia. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of her stuff... *greedy look*)

Actually, you can refuse it at delivery and they have to take it back. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
