The Regency Dance is canceled

I regret to announce that the Phantom of the Opera Regency Dance is canceled; space and time in the Imperial Ballroom couldn't be scheduled that would do this event justice so the decision was made to cancel it. I want to thank the organisers for past dances and for offering this year; I hope it will return in the future!

As they say, we regret any inconvenience. We really did try to fit this one in.

Does that mean that there will be no formal dance at all this year?

I would say yes, that is what it means. Although there are others dances this year, none are formal in that (or pretty much any) sense.
