I just wanted to thank everyone involved. It was a great con, and has been all these twenty-five years. It was great to see so many old friends, and to make new ones.

I just wish I didn't have to wait a year until the next one! Am I the only one who'd move to Arisia like a shot, if it were a country instead of a convention?

After attending Arisias and Boskones, and Noreascons of about 5,000 people (someone check stats), I've thought of ARISIA as a winter-sized WorldCon. I was told that membership sold out this time at 3,600 people. That's big enough to take over a neighbourhood somewhere.

I could imagine living in a Fannish Village, provided it had public transit, was close to a park and/or a body of water, and within, or close to a Major Eastern City. Many fans have a good income base to make a group move to such a place possible. I personally would need affordable housing, and many fans would need disability accessibility. In exchange, I could perform some kind of local outreach and help manage the neighbourhood's psychic aura. If someone asked, I could help with design of public spaces, houses or street layouts. I don't know if Fanhaven ever came to fruition in Arizona, but the idea is not new.
With our large Jewish population, we could call it KIRIAS FIAWOL.

A bunch of friends my age are all getting to the phase of having to worry about each others' health. I think we're leading the mundane demographic of the future by gathering together as ageing roommates. My own roommate just spent 2 months in hospital.

I think you are thinking of Mosaic Commons and Camelot, two co-housing communities in MA on rt 495. And I do remember hearing about FanHaven in Arizona, I think Leslie Fish was involved with that. I am glad I saw you early on; I was busy in events space.
