I'm going through the mailbox today. Want to email me your info directly? (jasra @ LJ) [I'm mostly settled in from my move and the mailbox should be attended to better now.]
Every time I click Paypal's Login button to pay via Paypal, nothing happens. But if I fill in the text boxes manually then it refuses to complete the transaction, saying that Paypal already has my information.
I'm not sure what's happening with it, but we're definitely getting a lot of successful registrations so maybe try again? Sorry to not have anything more specific to tell you.
Users are able to successfully register if they don't already have a Paypal account. For those of us who are already registered with Paypal, we're stuck.
Hi again. I just tested it using a different form (so I wouldn't keep giving Arisia $30) and used the default info I have set in my PayPal account and it worked perfectly.
Source of funds: 1) bank account 2) credit card
I also processed a second transaction using my credit card as the source of funds and it processed properly as well.
I would suggest contacting PayPal for more help because at this point, I'm out of suggestions.
It's not working for me. I'm an existing paypal member and when I add a credit card number like it asks, it tells me "This credit card is already registered in your PayPal account." and won't let me continue. What's up?
Hi. I *just* moved 2000 miles from Colorado and didn't even have my computer set up until last night so thank you for your patience and understanding.
That said, I'm seeing people using PayPal successfully so I'm not really sure why a few people are having issues. :( I would suggest contacting PayPal for help as we just interface to their system. Once you leave 2006.arisia.org then it's not our system that's having the trouble.
"Hi. I *just* moved 2000 miles from Colorado and didn't even have my computer set up until last night so thank you for your patience and understanding."
Well, you might get more patience and understanding if I actually *knew* you just moved from CO. I don't know you, why should I know your life is in flux at the moment? I waited 24 hours (actually 23hrs 55mins) for anyone to respond before I escalated. Any kind of acknowledgement from anyone would have been sufficient. It was somewhat time critical, as Dave had just announced that the early registration price was about to end.
But, nonetheless, I've tested and was unable to duplicate the problems. If you have more info, I can test more. Otherwise you might be better off talking to PayPal since the issue is actually with their system and not ours.
Hummm, I'm trying to register my whole family but the site does not seem to be taking more then one at a time. That is irritating. *shrug* Ah heck, I appear to be a day late to get the discount anyway, even though it still shows memberships at $30. I'll wait till you fix the checkout, I don't feel like dealing with four separate check outs.
Yes, and thank you very much! It was entirely my misunderstanding of how the checkout process worked. I was attempting to multitask and gave the registration process to little attention and missed key instruction.
*looks at comment* Oh, I was really going to fast that day. I sounded far to snippy there. Sorry about that.
The issue is that PayPal won't allow us to collect all of the info that we want/need to collect so the first part of the process is our side and then we send the info to PayPal for payment collection/processing. Maybe PayPal will allow more options next year.
No problem about the snippy. It happens sometimes.
