{Edited walking (thanks Ron) and driving directions]
boston.bestparking.com shows that there is cheap parking that's about 0.7 miles from the hotel. Not too far from the hotel, but you might want a ride to/from the parking lot if it's cold.
Parking at "Central Channelside" parking lot varies from $12 per day for week days to $6 per day for Sat/Sun. They only accept cash.
The official address is 6 Necco St, Boston, MA, but Google Maps shows it in the wrong location (about two blocks east of where it should be). To find the lot from the Westin, turn left onto Summer St. Go past the traffic light for the Convention Center, and keep going until you're surrounded by brick buildings at the next traffic light, turn left onto Melcher St, and then right on to Necco St. About two (short) blocks later is the entrance to the parking lot (opposite a parking garage).
If you look at the location of the parking lot in an aerial/satellite view, you'll see the Necco St does not continue to Binford St.
To walk back to the hotel, go back down Necco St., to Melcher St., and turn left onto A Street. On your left will be a set of stairs that will take you back up to Summer St, which is above you. Once at the Summer St. level, turn right and head back to the Westin. Walking, it should be about a half mile.

Date: 2012-01-13 03:58 pm (UTC)I checked the .pdf file downloaded from the BCEC website (www.mccahome.com)
And the Necco st. lots, according to this site, say the lots are CLOSED on the Weekends. And only open until 10PM.
WTF?!
F^&*%ing Boston!!

Date: 2012-01-14 03:17 am (UTC)I also noticed when arriving to put up my art in the artshow, that there is 'self parking' for the BCEC, continuing 'straight' past the Westin front doors...Although how restrictive they'd be for people going to the hotel vs. the Convention center I don't know - I assume people attending the car show have rooms at the hotel, but hey whatever. (and really, why should they care, we pay them money to park our cars...)
I ended up in the LAZ lot near the World Trade Center, and got $12 parking for the whole evening. We'll see how tomorrow AM goes.
