Do any of you Boston natives have suggestions for ways to spend some time between now and Friday afternoon, and after the end of con on Monday? I'm up for anything geeky, particular board gaming and engineering/technology stuff, and open to kinky events.

Date: 2012-01-12 06:20 am (UTC)go have lunch at Fanueil hall marketplace and marvel at history turned into tourist kitsch. While at Fanueil hall, check the half price ticket booth to see what shows you can score some tickets for.
The map thing at the christian science mother church is geeky and weird, good for an hour or so.
In the Public Garden (next to the Boston common) is the worlds smallest usable suspension bridge. It goes over the pond that the swanboats operate in during the summer. Also in the public garden is the Make Way for Ducklings statues next to one of the paths.
For art stuff. the Museum of Fine Art and the Gardner Museum across the street are both worth a visit, and can easily take up a full day between the two of them. Check out Mass Art college and take in any student exhibitions since you are already nearby.
have fun.

Near the con, swing by downtown crossing. If your into raw oysters or just like classy food & wine hit up Marliave. (It's a 1920's french/American/Italian restaurant hiding all the way down the alley off of Tremont Street.) They have a $1 oysters (4-6PM and 9-10PM daily, including weekends.) http://www.marliave.com/home/
