according to this post (http://www.livejournal.com/users/fakeaccounts/266.html) the best way to counter this tide of pornbots is to change this group to a 'moderated membership' group. The downside to that is that someone who joins won't be able to post 'til the list moderator rubberstamps their membership.

PS I dropped a note with fakeaccounts so probably 'frivolouswhatshername' will be nuked sometime RSN.

I'm not. Though it does help if more than one person has moderator privledges - that way new legitamate members don't have to wait until one person notices.

This is the only community I'm on that is plagued with this crap.

I get the feeling that posts by the pornbots get nuked when the pornbot accounts get nuked.

I will also note that this is NOT the only community I'm in that gets these... they seem to pick communities alphabetically, thus both 'arisia' and 'alpha_psi_omega' lose equally. We went multiple moderators in A_P_O and haven't had a post get through since. Of course, now I get lots of "moderated post waiting for approval" messages...
