Everyone seems to agree that there should be some sort of LJ event at Arisia next year. "Mixer" and "social" are the words I've heard most often. But what form should the event take?

I guess part of the answer depends on what people here would like to achieve. To meet LJ friends face-to-face? Increase their friend lists? What else?

Please share your ideas.

And what, someonecatchme isn't?

It might be easier to have someone stationed at the badge producing thing writing LJ names on the tags.

What we need is a button maker so someone can make buttons as needed with things like

"Alias

on livejournal"

We used to have button making dealers at Arisia for many years... whatever happened to them?

buttons?

I have at least three likely unfeasible suggestions there!

commission a bunch of buttons from the resident button seller:
http://www.nancybuttons.com/catalog.cgi?action=browse&action_mod=show&cat=sil
something like 'on LJ i am ____' and write your lj name in with a sharpie, or maybe everyone commission their own?

commission [livejournal.com profile] chanaleh with her set up:

the only downfall I see for that is potential readibility. could be fun for getting people closer for flirting tho. dunno.

last, and certainly least, I have an old set-up:
http://www.badgeaminit.com/benchpresskits.html
could see about printing out the paper part ahead of time, everyone fill in their own LJ, or have the neat handwriting person do it, and press the button on the spot.

I know someone mentioned an LJ ribbon; in conjunction with a name on the badge or a button, it would signal someone was an LJer from a distance and then the actual name could be gotten should you decide to approach.

There's a LiveJournal theme song that I've got stored on my HD. I can burn it to CD for you and bring it along if you want. ^_^

"and this entry is..... Friends List!"

Old Skool Label Printer!

I believe I have one with the multiple wheels & yards+yards of the impression tape to run through it. YOu rotate the wheel to the letter/symbol you want, kerchunk the handle to imprint the tape, rotate the wheel to the next character, kerchunk the handle, et cetera.

How's that?

My handwriting's pretty legible; I'd be happy to do that. (And you think *you're* LJ name is long?!?)
