The next Naked Girls Reading is Saturday, Sept. 18 at midnight at The Coolidge Corner Theater. The title is "Science Friction", and the theme is classic SF -- we'll be reading Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451", some Stanislaw Lem (in translation! :) and other golden oldies.

All read aloud to you by naked girls (I'll be one of them, in the glitter) onstage. Not your fetish? Come for the literature. Stay for the library-sexy glasses, the erudition, and of course the tits :)

i'm weirdly unsure -- i got into it b/c i was in a silks class with one of the organizers. it's a national organization with chapters (we're the boston one); google "naked girls reading" and see if they have contact info?

good luck! and remember there's nothing stopping you from holding your own naked-girl-reading event, of course; it's hardly the kind of thing one can copyright :)

ok. can she call it "live nude women read aloud"? the concept does not seem to be copyrightable, or else i'm in deep trouble :)

Concepts aren't copyrightable -- works are. Concepts, however, are trademarkable. I'm not sure whether the good folks behind this have trademarked it or not, but that's what they'd use to prevent someone else from unjustifiably exploiting their hard work.

On a related note: why would you, who are involved in this project, encourage someone to go off and set up a competing business? It seems clueless at best; passive-agressive at worst.

it's not a competitive business for me. it's like an author encouraging another author to write.

as i said, i am not one of the originators of NGR and i know little to nada about their politics; you can discuss trademark or other issues with them if you want.

meanwhile i continue to favor any increase in the dissemination of this art.
