I know I'm planning very much in advance but I need a few questions answered. I’d like to book whatever the new Weston has available for a big room to use for room party. When I go to the Weston website it doesn’t show me Con rates yet. How long should I wait for the con rate rooms? Should I just call the hotel about booking ahead of time to find the best available size room? And who should I speak with about having room party in general for next year’s convention? This is my first time trying too organize a room party.

I seem to recall in past years the hotel reservations were not open until September. I don't know if this will be the case with the new hotel, but I am glad you asked, because I am also interested in the information.

The bad news is that this is our first year in a new hotel, and so it'll be more difficult for us, as a convention, to decide where to put everything.

The good news is that there's a *lot* of space to go around, and I think (IANAHL) this extends to party-size suites.

Keep an eye on the Arisia website for details about hosting parties. But, as others said, it probably won't be updated for a couple of months.

Hi there! Glad to see you're so enthusiastic, and planning so far ahead! We're not ready to plan in great detail yet, and won't be ready for several months on this question. The hotel reservations (including party rooms) usually open in August at the earliest, and September/October is more common.

If you try to reserve a room with the Westin right now, they won't give you our room rate, because our reservations aren't open yet, and you'd likely be blocked on the quiet blocks (which is where the non-convention-attendee rooms will be located). So please do wait, and contact hotel@arisia.org once room reservations are open. :)
