One of the freebies we had at Arisia were copies of
scottbateman's Atom Age Vampire. This is a fully animated version of the classic trash movie, using the original soundtrack and totally animating the action - with extra bonus subtitles.
It's gotten praise from lots of funny people, and been featured in several film festivals.
Sadly, Scott *is* an independent cartoonist and film maker, and could only afford to send us 100 copies. I tried to make sure everyone had a crack at them by just putting them out 10 at a time over the course of the weekend ... but y'all know. DVD on the freebie table ;-)
So I hit up Scott, and he's agreed to heavily discount the DVD for you, the Arisian public who did not get the DVD - normally the DVD sells for $10, but right now you can get it for $6, including shipping!
So, to get discounted glory and support an indie filmmaker who supports Arisia (and is hoping to come do a screening of his next film, Zontar: The Thing From Venus next year) go here:
