Has anyone got a light?

I haven't seen anything on the volunteer page about the Smokers' Lounge.  Will there not be one this year?   My apologies if this question was answered in a previous post.

As far as I'm aware, it's been decided that there will be no smokers lounge this year. Folks will need to use their own outside balcony, a friend's outside balcony, or the smoking area outside the front door of the hotel.

The smoking area in front of the hotel is off to the side where the benches are (towards the garage). Please do not smoke in front of the hotel entrance, the cigarette smoke gets drawn into the hotel every time the doors open.

There are still smoking guest rooms on the 12th floor.

It's nice to know smoking rooms are still available, but personally I'm already in for a suite with a group that includes a pregnant lady.

Too bad about the lounge. It was where I could count on running into several friends who travel to Arisia and hang with local friends for respite and regrouping during party-hopping. It was also my major place of volunteering. What has the last few years become a big part of my con will be sorely missed.

Volunteering in the Smokers’ Lounge was doing my small part for one of my niche communities, to that end I expect to this year resume volunteering for Art Show set-up. (Although I will ever lament no longer being one of Dr. Karen’s minions.) A few years ago after doing a couple of shifts running the Con Suite at Gaylaxicon I volunteered in the Con Suite at the following Arisia. It was a wonderful experience I hope never to repeat.
