Dear fans of Boston:
A short time ago, I spent the weekend walking around telling people, "Thank you for having me at your convention." While it may have sounded a mite corny, I kept saying it, because I felt it.
arisia 2008 was an utterly amazing experience for me, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I want to add a public thanks to several people:
Great con... no, scratch that. A con for the ages. I lurve you all, and thank you for sharing the ride.
(I have another window with many tabs open, so I'll be working my way through the LJ responses.)
Fondly,
Z (of

P.S.: Oh, and before I forget... when I thought that there would be opening ceremonies, at which I'd have to make a speech, I was going to open with this line, and I put it out there irregardless: "Nice boots." ;->

I want to add a public thanks to several people:
cintyber, for inviting me as a GoH and getting me out there for this con, where I was both Something New, and simultanously feeling so much at home.
- The most excellent, wondrous, and otherwise marvelous GoH Liason crew -- pineapple power! Most of the membership is probably not aware of these people, but they moved mountains for myself,
marrus and
suricattus. I cannot say enough.
- I also want to reco'nize the others what treated me good: the hotel staff and the
arisians who interfaced with them; the Pubs folks; Events; Tech; Programming (thanks for making the
geocaching thing work, guys!); Gaming; Fast Track; Green Room; and the Con Suite. (I know that's a long list, and I'm still worried that I forgot somebody.)
- The talk show guests who came on my show and played the improv game that has turned into a (now-bicoastal!) fandom institution-despite-itself.
- And not least, my Cue Card Chick and my Cameraman (Season 7.5, as well as the Season 2 footage that was screened at the Con), for the incredible support they provided -- including being reassembled after midnight on Sunday night, when Opportunity knocked (after all the scheduled filming was done).
Great con... no, scratch that. A con for the ages. I lurve you all, and thank you for sharing the ride.

P.S.: Your weekend companion (with the unusually-colored accessories), say hi for me. (Not on LJ, right?)

Date: 2008-02-01 03:02 pm (UTC)Speaking of which. Con_brat loved the "Laugh like a Mad Scientist" panel, even if mom did win. Her pictures did not turn out well, so I hope your photographer will be posting some pictures soon.

P.S.: The videographer was not "my" guy, but I might be able to get footage. I have the guy's LJ (redacted for his privacy)...

I checked his lj, he has not yet posted anything. My brother was laughing to hard to take a picture, and I of course did the same for him. Several pictures of the kid though. And she got all your jokes. The one she did not understand was why my putting the scarf over your head was funny. But she liked how you flashed your glasses.

P.S.: Thanks for having such a great "anchor story" for the panel. It helped a lot.
