Hail and well met to everyone on this fine May morning.
I would like to begin with announcements of some important dates:
- Sunday May 20 @ 2pm we have a corporate meeting at the Eastlake's.
- June 8-10 Arisia is holding a Relaxacon at the Dedham Hilton.
- Sunday June 10 @ 2pm is a Corporate meeting at the Dedham Hilton.
- Wednesday July 18 @ 7pm we have a ConCom meeting at the Hyatt.
Our Division Head of Programming this year will be Michael Whitehouse. Michael has been the chair of PI Con for the past two years as well as lending his knowledge to other cons. While he is new to Arisia, he brings with him a great store of knowledge and experience.
Our hotel liaison and his staff are busy getting our Hotel reservations open.
Our entertainment this year is being supervised by my wonderful Assistant ConChair and Chairwoman for 2009 Jill Eastlake. We love to hear what types of entertainment you would like to see happening at Arisia. If you have ideas or contact information for performances, panels or just general feedback on entertainment at Arisia, please let us know. You can email events at Arisia.org, leave a comment here or send them conchair at Arisia.org.
Are you part of a fan group? Would you like to expand the public face of your group? Get in touch with us -- maybe buying an ad or hosting a party at Arisia is the way to do it.
Have you seen a unique merchant somewhere? Would you like to see more of one type of thing for sale, or less of something? Please let us know -- send to conchair at Arisia.org.
We do have a membership cap again this year, please be sure to purchase your memberships early and to nudge your friends to do the same.
Our theme this year is Pirates vs. Ninjas. We plan to send them to The Empire's School of Marksmanship so don't worry they will never actually hit anything they aim at (much like the Stormtroopers have proven over the years).
We will continue to update you and seek out your ideas as the year progresses. There will be more Concoms announced shortly; we choose to go easy on the meeting schedule for this busy start of the summer.
If you have ever thought about volunteering with Arisia, we would love to have you, it doesn't matter if it is 1 hour or a hundred -- every little bit helps.
Thank you,
September Isdell
