Hi, everybody! As I mentioned once before in this forum, I'm Arisia's artist guest for 2008. In a rare & beautiful example of early planning, I was asked by the con-chairs in which panels I'd like to take part.
I thought it'd be much better to ask what YOU folks want to know. As I told the Powers That Be, I can talk about marketing your work, juicing the Muse (on which I hope to panel at Dragon Con), making a living as a creative, working for yourself in general, being an artist in the middle of a disaster zone, Formosan termites and why cork floors don't work in New Orleans...but maybe there's something I might be able to share that I don't know that I know. You know? ;)
If you pop over to my LJ profile or my website, it'll give you an idea on my background. Thanks in advance for your insights, and I'll see you in January!

Date: 2007-08-14 06:34 pm (UTC)This being Arisia, and not your grandmother's convention, I suspect a panel on erotic art wouldn't be beyond the pale, given a good hook.

Date: 2007-08-14 06:49 pm (UTC)Can you give me an example of "your grandmother's convention"? Other than a Polka-Con...

Date: 2007-08-14 07:31 pm (UTC)Re "your grandmother's convention" -- I'd say Arisia is substantially less family-oriented (/limited) than Lunacon, Philcon, or your average Worldcon.

I agree with you on preferring the temporary, though...
