Are any of the people who were taking photos at the Skanks in Space party on here? I would love to see them and I know there were a couple of awesome ones of me that I'd really like to get a copy of.

Not exactly, it lit up and made phaser sounds... and also happened to vibrate quite pleasantly. It was great fun - just ask anyone who happened to get "shot" by it while dancing with me!

Yes, that's always a good sign... and don't worry hon, all of our friends gave up any ideas of a career in politics a long time ago.

I didn't get names either, that's why all the people I met now have interesting descriptions (see the entry in my journal). You were #2 only because someone handed me #1's leash first. He was the shaggy-haired raver kid.

It looks like I may have a lead on some photos, yay!

No, Jana was the tall girl in black vinyl with lizard scale bodypaint. I'm her other friend, Aimee, the one in the red skirt and black corset.

I'm not sure if I have had a chance to meet you, but I'm Jana-and-Douglas' friend Jake. If nothing else, I was at their anniversary party last year. I'm sad to have missed the chance to meet you at Arisia, but I'm still stuck in the Peace Corps. ;)

Things are doing alright with the Peace Corps... I wish I had more to do, but January is a slow month in Suriname. I was back in the US for Xmas, but couldn't stay for Arisia. I plan to be at Arisia 2009, however.

The Skanks are friends of friends, so I got all of my prior info that way. I'm not sure how to contact them directly since I just met most of them this weekend. I'm sure I'll find out about next year's party as it develops though, so feel free to add me and I'll pass the news along as I get it!

All the bitching really surprised me too. It was one of the most fun parties I've been to in a long time, and the people that organized it were very cool and welcoming. I don't understand what the problem was with a private party having a couple of very easy requirements to get in and the environment seemed all that much better for it. I guess people always have to find something to complain about...

While I'll be posting many of my arisia pictures, I'm pretty sure I won't be posting my "Skanks in Space" pictures publicly. I don't have much really but a cursory look shows that I have a couple pictures of who I think you are. I haven't had enough time yet at my computer to even flip through my arisia pictures yet.
