The two real factors here are 'how much do you hate the cold' and 'how long do you think it will take you to get from the T-stop to the hotel.'
The former I leave to you, the latter is actually pretty short. It's about a block, and there is usually a homeless guy on the corner telling Arisians where to go in the hopes that we will give him quarters. We tend to exude geek and this sort of thing happens at the Park Plaza a lot. Incidentally, pretty much anyone you stop on the street will know where it is - and that's assuming there's not an obvious stream of geeks heading there.
how much crap you have coming and going? will taking a cab be worth that book or two you then can't buy?
As a cheap bastard, I would T it in, and then try to find a cab carpool back. (except I have too much crap to T. If my work schedule on friday munges things, I may try to get a lot of my stuff brought in by others the night before.)
As everyone else has stated it comes down to how easy you are wiling to pay for confort...
Taking the "T" (Boston's Bus/Train system)from Logan involves the following: - A Free Bus from your Terminal to the Logan MBTA(of "T") Station. - Some stairs. - About a 10-20 minute wait in the cold open air station. - An approx 15 minute ride on the "Blue" line to Government Center Station. - Some more stairs. - Be careful which platform you board at this station has a slightly confusing (to the non loacals) triangular design. - usually not much more than a 5 minute wait for a trolley. - Another approx 15 minute ride on one of the "Green" Line underground trollies, to Arlington St Station. - More stairs. - About a 1 block walk southward to the Hotel.
Last time I took a cab from the airport to the Radisson (a block away from the Park Plaza) it cost $16. So I'd guess, with the changes since 9/10/2001, it would be $18-19. It's only a 10 minute trip, even with traffic.
On the T, it will be $1.25, but could take about 30 minutes (or more, depending on the time of night that you arrive). It will also require at least 1 train change, which means stairs while lugging your stuff.

cab is likely warmer, less lugging bags up and down stairs and will costs whole bunches more. guessing closer to $20
