I really need to find out what's up

I registered for the convention at Balticon and know my CC has been processed and recently received a confirmation of my membership.

But then I decided to try to get a dealer's row room. I sent the form in (noting that I had already purchased a membership) and have had the following useless exchanges.

8/17 from Lisa Hertel: I have your form, and you will be hearing from us in September.

10/4 from me: I have not heard anything.

10/4 from Lisa Hertel: Yes, I'm waiting on the hotel--the reservation system is supposed to go live on Oct. 15th.

10/28 from me: I've still not heard anything. I've been told you received my information, but I have not been told if I was accepted as a dealer or not

I have not received a response to this. On Nov 1st I forward my last email (with the above summary) to "info@arisia.org.

Now, I know everyone is a volunteer, but I really want to know an answer to my question. I know the hotel reservation system has been up for the past few weeks. I also know that I've been missing out on some airfare specials - and really, if I'm not going to be a dealer at the con, I'd rather fly to it. Can anyone help me?

Hi there. Sorry for the bleh you are experiencing. We did get the reservation stuff up and running. There's a form online for it:

Lisa is the one who has to answer your question about if you're a dealer or not though.

I'm not sure who is on the info@ alias, but I'll try to get someone to come over and help you figure out what's going on.

They definately/probably have neat stuff to sell. I mean, last year, almost all the dealers had awesome stuff. I <3 the capelet I got at arisia 5.1

Yes, I've been stuck with jury duty on a murder trial, and had difficulty getting together with Pam (my cohort). I will be sending out the rest of the dealer confirmations--a bunch have already been sent--tonight. However, we're not turning away any dealer's row applications, so go ahead and make your reservations.

OK. Thank you for answering. Not sure if I should say sorry or congrats for being stuck on a murder trial. My mom always wanted to get on a trial because she hated her job - and thought it would be interesting. Because she worked for the county she would have gotten regular wages. But then I had jury duty and got a terrible migraine from the silencer they used in the courtroom during jury selection. And a friend was on a murder trial and learned far to many grusome details for her taste.

Anyway, I'm off to dig out my CC and make a reservation....

Last year because Boston had a nasty snow storm people were stuck at the hotel and so (I think for the frist time) Arisia went one more day. So it ended up being Fri, Sat, Sun, with close on Mon.

(I was trying to remember what happened in '94 and came up with zilch. Well, I came up with some things - personal stuff and remembered that the masqurade was over in the castle (I never made if over there because my ankle was really bad))
