Arisia Robot Party!
Dear awesome Arisia folks!
Do you remember the Wonderland/Peter Pan party last year? Did you love it like we did? This year, we're having another great party! This letter outlines the basics of it:
Greetings Humans,
It has come to our Robot Overlord attentions that you are holding a Mad Science themed convention without acknowledging the vast landscape of amazing contributions to mad science made by your Robot Overlords. To this end, we have decided to hold a [party] where you will come and learn about the amazing instances of your Robot Foreoverlords.
We have democratically elected human representatives to host the party. Please show your unswerving loyalty. All you need to do is show up (attendance is mandatory) and have [fun].
Signed,
Your Robot Overlords
Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Throwing a party is a big chunk of work, and is definitely a community effort. Our party last year was so great because of contributions from people just like you. How you can help:
Donate money to the cause! Money will be used to buy refreshments and decorations to make the right atmosphere. Donations can be sent through paypal to watermosaic [at] gmail [dot] com, or you can contact me in person at the same e-mail address. Even $10 goes a very long way. Donors will be publicly thanked at the party.
Volunteer for us! E-mail me so I can get in touch with you at the convention. There will be refreshments to set up, decorations to hang, and invitations to spread out about the convention.
Show up and bring your friends! Really, it's the people who create the party, and we can't do it without you. Keep an eye out for the room and time, and then show up! This is very specifically an alcohol-and-loud-music-free party. We want people of all ages to meet each other and have a good time!
Our effort is to lavish attention and resources on evening events geared toward inclusion, to provide alternatives to the more exclusive and 'adult' themed parties. Please support us in this endeavor.
Thanks :)
