Ziggurat Labs welcomes Arisians to join our researchers this year, for one night only, at the Lab's Friday night pajama party --- so please, pack your best jammies & sleekest nightwear and join us in suite 466 1505.

Friday night Pajama Party: Cocoa and cookies, stories and silk! Come and meet the staff of the Labs in a low-key social environment and engage in a few experiments in thermodynamics. Families are welcome from 7:30-8:45. We'll feature a return engagement of librarian D. Schulman with bedtime stories at 8pm. Later in the evening, bring your silk or satin PJs for our Grown-Up Hours (9:15-midnight) and enjoy!

Bicycle parking at Arisia?

Does anyone here know if there is a good place to lock a bicycle at the Westin Waterfront or the adjacent Convention Center? A bike rack inside a guarded parking garage would be ideal, but any bike rack at all is better than locking my bike to a random street sign or parking meter all day.

The current forecast predicts clear weather for all four days of Arisia, and we have had no snow or ice accumulation at all so far this year. Biking the 6 miles from Davis Square will therefore be safe, and much faster than dealing with Red Line substitute shuttle buses (between Davis and Harvard) on Saturday and Sunday.

Shuttle available to Badger's memorial service

Arisia is going to be providing a shuttle to and from Badger's memorial service on Friday. The first shuttle will leave the Westin at 2:15 and head to the MIT Chapel. It will run in a continuous loop with the last bus leaving MIT at 6 pm.

The memorial service for Alice E. Washburn will be Friday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at the MIT Chapel in Cambridge, with reception to follow at the nearby Student Center.
